Scholarships are financial awards that help students pay for college or career training. Unlike loans, they do not need to be repaid. Scholarships may be based on academics, leadership, community service, special talents, financial need, or other criteria. Opportunities are offered by colleges, local organizations, businesses, and national programs. Our counseling department encourages students to research and apply for scholarships regularly. Even small awards can add up and reduce overall college costs. Be sure to check our scholarship list, attend workshops, and ask your counselor for support with applications. For more information on our local scholarships, contact our scholarship coordinator, Mrs. Shryock, or our college and career counselor, Ms. Gill.
