Classroom Environment:
Treat everyone and our technology equipment with respect. There will be numerous thought provoking issues and ideas introduced and discussed during class. Some will inevitably stimulate controversy, some may strike a chord with you, and some may challenge your perceived view of the world. The classroom is a forum for learning, analyzing and examining ideas; it is not intended to be an arena in which the loudest voice prevails. Be considerate of your classmates, especially when you disagree with their views. Avoid using profanity, epithets, stereotypical references, etc. Use logic and reasoning to debate your point. There will be no tolerance for disrespectful behavior towards anyone. All inappropriate behavior will generate a call to your parent/guardian. Continual classroom disrupting behavior will be referred to the office for school discipline.
Expectations:
Be respectful
Students are to be in their assigned seats when the bell rings. The bell is your signal to begin the days work .
Students are expected to ask questions (raise your hand, please don't just call out).
Answers to questions should be well thought out; do not transcribe your textbook as your answer.
When you are assigned to read, please read the entire passage and don't merely scan for answers to questions.
No eating or drinking in class.
Plagiarism is unacceptable and cause for zero credit and additional consequences (additional info link)
*AI generated answers are plagiarism.
Extra Credit:
Extra Credit is graded extra hard.
World history is a comparative, transregional and transcultural approach to the study of history. It offers a global perspective on past events, as well as cultural and geographic developments over time. Instead of focusing on discrete events, world history takes a big-picture approach to history and considers how those events relate to each other in a larger human story.
World history examines a plethora of topics. Learners will study how ideas, technology, politics, international conflicts and wars have reshaped dynamics between different international powers throughout time.
