Led development of Sustainable Energy Accelerator, including website development, press relations, and audience engagement, resulting in €40,000 in REEEP grant funding and selection to the June 2004 International Conference for Renewable Energies International Action Programme.
Developed and implemented public affairs outreach strategies to engage EU member countries’ delegations and EU parliamentarians on climate change, carbon trading, and renewable energy legislation.
Presented speeches and represented e5 member interests at EU and industry events in Brussels, London, Bonn, and Berlin.
Managed website construction, marketing materials development, and online outreach coordination focused on the business and investment opportunities related to climate change and clean energy.
To assist new businesses with access to finance, markets, and consulting services, I worked with Frankfurt-based European Business Council for Sustainable Energy to design and launch the e5-Sustainable Energy Accelerator program (e5-SEA), with two program offices established in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. e5-SEA won funding and recognition from the REEEP program in Vienna.
Renewable energy enterprises were often overlooked as viable investments due to a perception of excessive risk. Regardless, these companies are key players in the development of innovative technologies and business models, and can respond flexibly to changing market demands. To reach their full potential, promising companies require business expertise, marketing avenues, and financial backing to roll out their technologies, products and services onto global markets.
To meet these challenges, I led the creation of E5’s Sustainable Energy Accelerator (e5-SEA). This project development and management facility sought to provide a comprehensive solution for small businesses and innovators who may otherwise be unable or unwilling to enter the sustainable energy marketplace.
The impacts of e5-SEA increased financing options and credibility for small enterprises, particularly in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Bulgaria, where we worked with local partners to establish chapter programs. e5-SEA was also selected to receive 65,000 Euros in project finance support by the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP).
