Focus: Food security, aquaculture, seaweed cultivation 

I teamed up with my colleague Aubrey Paris of State’s Office of Global Women’s Issues to discuss women’s empowerment in the United States’ emerging seaweed cultivation sector. We interviewed Atlantic Sea Farms CEO Briana Warner to discuss the implications of climate change for coastal communities and the promise of kelp farming.

As part of my ongoing support for the State Department’s food security diplomacy, I directed, produced and moderated this discussion on the importance and effectiveness of using gaming as a way to reach young people interested in pursuing careers in the critical food security space.

For this video, I once again teamed up with NASEF to discuss career paths In public diplomacy.  I focus on how students can make the crucial connections to build expertise and relationships in cross-border relations.

Focus: Food security, Gaming and Esports

You will see in this fascinating program that video game diplomacy has arrived and is an effective way to build critical STEAM-based skill sets. This focuses on gaming and esports communities, how they are built and organized, and how food security outcomes are impacted.  

Focus: Ukraine, Women's leadership

This virtual panel focuses on the leadership of Ukrainian women, the uniquely gendered impacts of the war, and the courageous work of Ukrainian women leaders from government, civil society, journalism, pop culture, and other sectors.

Focus: Women's rights

More than 900 viewers from over 50 countries watched this virtual policy rollout focused on prevention of gender-based violence. I worked closely with stakeholders in the White House, State Department, USAID, and several leading NGOs in the women’s rights space.

Working with a group of Native American businesses making important contributions to food security was a real pleasure. This program focused on how small-scale producers are using sustainable farming practices and accessing global markets through government-sponsored trade programs.

Focus: Science diplomacy

Planetary defense against potential asteroid impacts is a great example of science diplomacy done right. This program highlights the importance of stakeholder engagement on global issues.

The ongoing food security crisis has impacted nations in the Middle East and Africa particularly hard. This live streamed program brought together expert speakers to discuss how the United States addresses food security from technology and entrepreneurial perspectives.

Starting in March 2020, I’ve worked with the State Department’s Environmental and Scientific Affairs Bureau to produce a livestream program series on water security. In February 2021, I produced and moderated this program on career paths in water resources.

Focus: Digital stakeholder engagement

This presentation focused on the strategic considerations of technology deployment for public diplomacy.  The audience included diplomats from South Africa, the Seychelles, Rwanda, Chad, Zambia, Côte d'Ivoire, Comoros, Mauritius, and Sudan.
