The Lorraine Dodero STEM GOES RED Student Scholarship
This scholarship was designed to help close the gap between young women's interest in STEM and their ability to pursue careers in these fields. This opportunity is available to female-identifying students in grades 9-12 with an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Winners will be announced by April 2026 and funds may be applied to a future academic year.

Qualification Requirements:
9-12 grade student currently living in or attending school in one of the following counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Wayne
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Identifies as female
U.S. citizen/permanent resident of the U.S.
Applying/Planning to apply to a university with the intent to major in a STEM-related field OR technical trade institution with a focus on earning a degree/certificate in a STEM-related field
In addition to meeting the scholarship qualifications, a review committee will select finalists based on:
Interest and commitment to pursue a career in a STEM field
Academic achievement
A five paragraph essay (500 words maximum, typed, double-spaced, one-sided) which addresses two of the following application questions:
How will your study of a STEM major contribute to your immediate or future career plans?
Why are you interested in pursuing a STEM related degree?
Explain the importance of STEM in today's society.
What do you think the STEM industry will be like in the next 10 years?
2 letters of recommendation. Qualities should include maturity, motivation, self-confidence, leadership, interest and commitment to STEM and potential success.

Horatio Alger Scholarship Application - Juniors ONLY
The Horatio Alger Association is seeking students who display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Students must have financial need and a determination to turn adversity into opportunity and pursue their American Dream. There are over 600 scholarships available valued up to $25,000 each. By filling out one application, you will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible, except for some Specialized Scholarships. Eligibility Requirements:
Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States
Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States
Demonstrate financial need ($100,000 or lower household income)
Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
Be a United States citizen
