II IESLA BILINGUAL OLYMPIC GAMES
Last May 7th, we celebrated the II IESLA Olympic Games, a fun sports event with the participation of our 1st year ESO students, along with the 6th grade students from our affiliated bilingual school, Nuestro Padre Jesús, who joined us for part of the morning. It was a day full of sports, friendship, and teamwork, where everyone enjoyed showing their Olympic spirit in different activities. An unforgettable experience we’ll be looking forward to repeating next year! We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who made this event possible — teachers, staff, students,...— for their support and enthusiasm. Below, we leave you with a brief review of the event that was published in our webpage and some photos capturing the best moments.
On April 2nd, our 2nd and 3rd year ESO students enjoyed two very special outings. 2nd ESO students visited Córdoba, while 3rd ESO students explored the Riotinto Mining Park. Both trips were held in a bilingual format (English-Spanish), an activity we organise every year because our students truly enjoy it and it gives them the chance to learn beyond the classroom. Here you have the reviews that were published about these trips on our school’s website.
We’d like to share a creative writing activity called GIVEN WORDS, created by New Zealand writer Michael Olsen. The task is simple: students write a poem that includes five given words. This time, the words are: whisper, time, eat, feather, and phantasmagoric. Below, you’ll find a selection of poems written by our students. We hope you enjoy their creative work.
IESLA AND ITS SHINY OLYMPIC GAMES
Last May, our school held its first annual School Olympic Games, an event that brought together students from 3rd ESO to compete in different sports. It was a very funny experience since we were all doing sport together. During the morning, all the students showed their skills in different disciplines such as handball, ultimate or running and the importance of teamwork. The day ended with amazing awards which recognised the effort of each participant and highlighted everyone’s talents. It was a highly successful and enjoyable day for all. We should repeat it, we had a great time with our classmates. Thank you, teachers!
The students made some interviews to their classmates and they talked about different aspects of the IESLA OLYMPIC GAMES, such as their possibilites of winning a medal. The ones that can be scanned below are from Alejandro Roncel and Alejandro Salvador (3ºESO-A), Elena Ramírez and Lucía Ríos (3ºESO-A) and Gonzalo Rodríguez and Jairo Vega (3ºESO-C).
During these trips the students took photos of the most beautiful landmarks to participate in our FoTAZA CHALLENGE. The winners, Enrique Carmona Toro from 2ºESO-A and Julia Romero Romana from 3ºESO-A, won a beautiful mug of our school. These are the winning photos of the contest
