This year we are using Google Classroom as our online learning platform.
Here you will find your announcements and homework in Stream and your daily assignments in Classwork. Be sure to set up your classroom so that you are ready to join the class daily at 8am sharp!
Go to classroom.google.com.
Make sure to sign in with your Lopatcong School account. If you're already signed in and need to switch accounts, in the top-right corner, click your profile picture or add your account.
Mrs. Darno’s Virtual Classroom Rules:
1. Dress as if you were going into the school building. This gets your mind ready and helps you stay on schedule!
2. Eat before class. You don’t want a grumbling stomach. It’s very distracting to others. Mrs. Darno will have a scheduled snack.
3. Be organized and prepared. Avoid getting out of your chair or leaving the virtual meeting. Keep a water bottle next to you. Gather necessary supplies: paper, notebooks, pencils, erasers, and books.
4. Go to the bathroom before class. You might miss important information if you leave class.
5. Sit in a chair at a desk or a table. This will help you stay upright and focused.
6. Create a quiet space. You want little or no distractions.
7. Look behind your space. Make sure it is appropriate. Nothing should be going on in the background.
8. Look around your space. There should be no toys, food, pets, or siblings to distract you or others.
9. Be on time. Show respect for your teacher. This also shows you are responsible.
10. Log on a little early to make sure you do not have any technical issues. This includes making sure your computer is charged or plugged in.
11. Make sure your camera is on. I should see your face as if you were sitting in front of me in class.
12. Mute your microphone. Only the teacher is talking unless otherwise stated.
13. When you have something to say, raise your hand and wait your turn. You may need to turn your microphone on and politely ask your teacher a question.
14. Use earbuds everyday (in class too!) We should only hear what’s going on in class, not at home. Earbuds help with interference too!
15. No use of chat room UNLESS teacher gives permission.
