This year our focus in the Spanish department is build confidence in every student so they push themselves further in their reading, writing and speaking.

We are excited that this year we will be launching a new curriculum in our Kinder to 4th grade classrooms that is written using the concept of 'comprehensible input'. That is to say the students can directly connect what they are learning in Spanish to what they already know. The focus area we will start with is 'El cuerpo' - The body.

In our 5th and 6th grade classrooms we will be using Somos with the same starter units we used with a lot of success last school year with our 6th to 8th grades.

The 7th and 8th graders will continue their learning through Somos, building more skills at reading and writing stories and understanding the different Spanish speaking cultures.
