HCP Papa Bear Program

They are enthusiastic and committed fathers, step-fathers, grandpas and other male figures of students at H. Clarke Powers.  Who helps support students in the classroom and the school with outdoor supervision during school hours and on special events.  Papa Bears strive to exude great leadership and compassion by committing time and energy to the continued development of school climate and culture. 

• Students engage with positive male role models.

• School benefits from more adult supervision extra, eyes on campus and helps to enhance a more transparent, peaceful school culture.

• Father’s gain insight into their students' school lives, giving them a deeper understanding of the successes and challenges their student’s face daily.  Thus aiding parent/child communication.

• Provides a deterrent to bullying.

• Support staff by modeling respect for school rules in the classroom, hallways, playground and gym.

As an International Baccalaureate School, HCP is committed to creating internationally minded lifelong learners.  The Papa Bear program allows fathers to collaborate with this vision by celebrating their own strengths, achievements and life skills they can share.

Papa Bears will support students in reaching their full potential by helping to cultivate an environment of safety and fun on campus. 

Papa Bears encourage integrity and maturity through positive interactions with students and staff.  Understanding that their commitment and representation of the Papa Bear program extends beyond the school, into the community and their students' lives.
