What's a Papa Bear?
They are enthusiastic and committed fathers, step-fathers, grandpas and other male figures of students at H. Clarke Powers. Who helps support students in the classroom and the school with outdoor supervision during school hours and on special events. Papa Bears strive to exude great leadership and compassion by committing time and energy to the continued development of school climate and culture.
Program Benefits
Students engage with positive male role models.
School benefits from more adult supervision extra, eyes on campus and helps to enhance a more transparent, peaceful school culture.
Father’s gain insight into their students' school lives, giving them a deeper understanding of the successes and challenges their student’s face daily. Thus aiding parent/child communication.
Provides a deterrent to bullying.
Support staff by modeling respect for school rules in the classroom, hallways, playground and gym.
