Spanish III students continue to develop proficiency in Spanish in the four language skill areas. Listening and speaking skills are enhanced through audio and video sources. Reading and writing skills are developed through culturally relevant readings and open-ended prompts. Grammar and vocabulary themes are covered through the use of the online student text, online practice and in class activities, which include both speaking and writing activities. Spanish III work centers around the themes of food, parties, families and health and the doctors office. Students make comparisons with their own culture and customs and are expected to be able to explain these comparisons in writing and/or orally. The target language is used as often as possible in this course.
