Every night your student will bring home their home-school folder and an agenda notebook. Support is given at the beginning of the year in an effort to help students become responsible and organized. Each day your student will write down their assignments in their agenda and insert the necessary papers into their home-school folder.
Please check this folder/agenda notebook daily as this is where you will find homework assignments, information about class happenings, and corrected work. Please also initial the agenda on the corresponding day where assignments have been written - this lets me know that the materials have been seen. Completed homework or notes that need to be returned to school should be sent back in this folder.
The three types of homework expected of your student are listed below:
#1. Literacy:
Students are expected to complete homework related to literacy each evening. These assignments will be related to reading, spelling, or grammar. Your student’s agenda will indicate the assignment and due date of each assignment.
Be sure to update your student's home reading list for each book they read at home.
#2. Math Facts & Thinking:
Your child will need to access a device to log into their Clever account and access the IXL platform for 1 hour weekly. Your student’s agenda will indicate this.
#3. Test Preparation:
As we advance into the year students will be given study guides to assist them in preparing for our fourth-grade assessments.
More detailed information will be provided about each of these homework components as we ease into our homework routine.
