Google Arts & Culture is an online platform that enables users to view mages of 32,000 artworks from 46 museums captured as a gigapixel image (over 1 billion pixels), and to virtually tour 46 partner museums’ galleries, explore physical and contextual information about artworks, and to compile one's own virtual collection. The "walk-through" feature of the project uses Google's Street View technology.

Metropolitan Museum of Art's Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History presents a thematic, chronological, and geographical exploration of global art history through The Met collection. It is a reference, research, and teaching tool conceived for students and scholars of art history. It is authored by The Met’s experts, and currently comprises more than 1,000 essays, close to 7,600 works of art, 300 chronologies, and 3,700 keywords. It is regularly updated and enriched to provide new scholarship and insights on the collection.
