Required Courses
All students at LCHS take eight classes per year, but they only take four classes during each semester. Throughout the year, all freshmen are required to take four academic courses: an English, math, science, and social studies course. Most will take only two of these academic courses per semester. For example, one freshman may take English and science during the first semester, while another freshman takes math and social studies during that semester. To see which academic courses you will be taking during first semester, please take a look at your schedule.
Freshmen are also required to take Health and Personal Fitness. The remaining three classes for the year will be electives. To find out more information about the electives, click on the Electives page on this site.
The Honors 9th Grade Literature & Composition is only taught during second semester. Any freshmen scheduled for English first semester will be taking 9th Grade Literature & Composition. Please choose your teacher below to view the syllabus or e-mail address.
