Talk about feelings experienced in the story & allow students to make connections to their feelings and experiences.
Wednesday - Unity Day - Wear Orange Clothes
“Spookley the Square Pumpkin” Story
Spookley the Square Pumpkin Song
Students will design their own pumpkin for the classroom patch (any color or shape pumpkin they would like). Discuss story themes of including everyone, being kind & being different.
Thursday - Give Violence the Boot - Wear Your Favorite Boots (work boots, rain boots, cowboy boots, snow boots)

Make a class list of ways to be respectful. Have students write/draw a picture of them doing something respectful.
Wednesday - Respect Ourselves
Have students talk about what they like about themselves.
Thursday - Respect Others
Have students draw a self portrait and write (have grown up write) something that makes them special.

Review the ways stick and stone helped one another, and review kind list from yesterday. Talk about what friends do.
Have students draw a picture (or write) about something they like to play or do with a friend (or cousin or sibling if needed)
Thursday, Sept 24: Embrace Diversity
Draw a picture of yourself & something you like to do or are good at.
Friday, Sept 25: School Spirit Day
Have the children wear green & white & celebrate our school family.
