JASON M. CORLEY, CMAA
Mr. Jason M. Corley (Long Branch High School – Class of 1994) is in his sixteenth year as Long Branch High School’s Athletic Administrator. Mr. Corley currently serves on the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Executive Committee as the committee's Past President, their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion chair, and their Eligibility Appeals Committee. He has served on the NJSIAA Executive Committee since (2017), and worked on a host of committees to further high school athletics in the state of New Jersey. As part of the Shore Conference of High Schools, Mr. Corley serves on their executive committee as an At-Large member and Co- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion chair. Mr. Corley is also the director for the conference's Boys Lacrosse Tournament. Additionally, he serves as the Athletic Administrator for grades K-12 and has served as a student facilitator, student advisor, teacher as well as head & assistant coach for several sports at Long Branch.
Mr. Corley attended Kean University and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration, a Masters in Education, and a second Masters in Educational Leadership. Mr. Corley received designation as a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) in 2012. In 2017 he earned the status of Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA). He was named Jersey Sporting News Athletic Director of the Year in 2018, Shore Conference of High Schools Athletic Director of the Year in 2022 and honored by the Green and White Association as their Athletic Director of the Year in 2022. Mr. Corley was named by the national athletic platform, BOUND, "Athletic Director of Influence", one of fifty in the nation.
Mr. Corley has been acknowledged in the following areas of excellence, Professional Service Award by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, (NAACP), 525 Philanthropy Club’s Education Achievement Award City of Long Branch's Community Service Award, Positive Community Leader Award, Going the Extra Mile Award from Focus Sports Presents, Educators’ Award by the Latino American Association of Monmouth County, Long Branch High School's Distinguish Athletic Hall of Fame as an Outstanding Football Player. Mr. Corley was also honored and recognized by Monmouth County Senator and Assemblywomen as a highly esteemed resident of the Garden State, who will be saluted for his meritorious endeavors and outstanding accomplishments during a Black History Month Celebration.
Community service is very important to Mr. Corley. The following are some of the many organizations that have included him as a member: Long Branch NAACP, Long Branch Men’s Club, Long Branch Elks, Long Branch Mayor’s Transition team, Long Branch Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board, Safe Sports Zones committee member and the Fidelity Lodge #42, F&AM-PHA.
Mr. Corley values Education-Based Athletics and the benefits of athletic participation. Participation promotes sportsmanship, accountability, leadership, and citizenship. It encourages teamwork and teaches many life lessons that translate outside the realm of athletics. Mr. Corley continues to work at the local, county, state, and national level to promote athletics in New Jersey. He hopes to continue to bring about positive and innovative changes, while maintaining the proud tradition of Long Branch Athletics.
