The Blue & Purple Star Lancers

April: "Purple-Up" Month

April is an important month for the Blue and Purple Star Lancers. Beginning in 1986, Secretary of State Casper Weinberger established April as the month of the military child to recognize youth who have a parent, sibling, or step-parent serving in our military. Across the nation each April, communities pay tribute to military families with Purple-Up! events. Why purple? Blend the green of the Army with the red of the Marines and finish with the blue of the Coast Guard, Air Force and Navy and you get PURPLE!
