How many runners does a XC team consist of?

Cross-country teams can be very large (100+) as a whole, but when it comes to racing a "team" is comprised of 7 runners.

SCORING

The top 5 runners on the team contribute to the team score with the 6th and 7th runners helping displace other team's runners. The place where the runners finish in the race is their point total. 

Example: team 1- 1, 3, 4, 6, 10= 24

                  team 2- 2, 5, 7, 8, 9= 31

In this example team 1 would win because they scored the least amount of points. Low score wins!

If there is a tie then they would go to the 6th place runners to break the tie.
