Welcome to AP Language and Composition! I'm happy you're here-have a look around! - Ms. Crook
From the Bear Creek High School course catalog
This AP course in English language and composition engages students in becoming skilled readers of prose written in a variety of periods, disciplines, and rhetorical contexts and in becoming skilled writers who compose for a variety of forms - narrative, exploratory, expository, argumentative—and on a variety of subjects from personal experience to public policy, from imaginative literature to popular culture. The course requires expository, analytical, and argumentative writing assignments. As in the college course for which the AP Language and Composition course substitutes, its purpose is to enable students to read complex texts with understanding and to write prose of sufficient richness and complexity to communicate effectively with readers. Students are strongly encouraged to take the AP exam. Summer reading and accompanying assignments are required.
