Attendance/Summer School/Schedule Changes

***ATTENDANCE NOTIFICATION*** (as of 2/2/2022)

Thank You for reaching out in regards to your question about your attendance.

ALL MEMBERS OF THE STUDENTS TRIAD have access to your (or your students) attendance information. Counselors and CCMR Advisors will have limited availability due to course selection meetings. Please read the following information to guide your next steps:

1. Students must meet the 90% attendance requirement for EACH class they are enrolled in; this includes excused and unexcused absences. Truancy only looks at unexcused absences. If you have truancy issues, Ms. Sylvia Brown is probably already in contact with you or will be soon!

2. If you (or your student) was absent due to a school related activity.

You (or your student) needs to contact the activity's sponsor to verify whether or not the student attended the activity. If the student did in fact attend the activity, the sponsor needs to reach out to Ms. Kristine Hayman (LHS Attendance Clerk) to correct the attendance. I would encourage you to follow up with the student's sponsor as well as Ms. Hayman to make sure the student was correctly coded for the school related activity.

3. If you (or your student) was present to a class period, but was counted absent by the teacher.

You (or the student) needs to get with their teacher of record, confirm the student in fact did attend the class, and the teacher needs to reach out to Ms. Hayman to correct the attendance. I would highly encourage you to follow up with the teacher as well as Ms. Hayman to see if the attendance was corrected.

4. Students out related to COVID should be marked as such in Skyward.

That said, Ms. Hayman needs proper documentation or please refer to Lockhart ISD's Leading Forward Document (link). These absences should not count for 90% purposes (attendance committee will review all of these).

5. The amount of hours owed have been posted in the cafeteria as well as shared with advisory teachers that identify you (or your student) by your OTHER ID. The Other ID was provided on the attendance letter given to students in Advisory as well as can be found in Skyward.

6. Attendance logs and choice boards are available in the front offices.

7. Saturday Schools are every Saturday from 9-12 in the LHS cafeteria unless the Friday is a holiday. ex. Good Friday weekend doesn't have Saturday School.

FALL 2021: SCHEDULE CHANGES CLOSED

The schedule change window closed on August 27th at 4:00 pm. The Counseling Team processed all requests that were made within that time frame and changes were made to schedules based on meeting individual graduation requirements, Individual Education Plans, Class Sizes and Course Availability. As of now, we are no longer processing schedule change requests and you will need to follow your current schedule until further notice.
