Ian Penton

Principal

I am a K-12 product of LMUSD schools. I started my career as a teacher and coach at Arroyo Grande High School 22 years ago. Twelve years ago, I was given the opportunity to be the principal at Judkins and I found my home. This is a great place with an amazing staff that knows how to "put kids first."

Jeannie Cross

Assistant Principal

As an elementary school teacher at Grover Beach and Fairgrove Elementary schools for a total of thirteen years, I try to keep my finger on the pulse of our students’ child-like natures, all while supporting them to grow toward independence. Middle Schoolers are my people; I learn something from them every day. They make me laugh, they make me think, they make me a better person.

Jami Wozniak

School Counselor

WOW! I can't believe this is my 13th year in the district. I love what I do and look forward to coming into school each and every day. I've worked at several schools in the district and for the past 10 years I've been a Panther. I love it here...not only do we have this awesome view, we have an amazing staff and wonderful kiddos. The energy on this campus is special. I work with all of the students for academic, social and emotional needs.

Jessica Butelo

School Psychologist

My name is Dr. Jessica Butelo and I am the School Psychologist at Judkins Middle School. I grew up in the Bay Area and attended undergrad at Whitworth University in Spokane, Wasgington. Here, I received a BA in Fine Arts and a second BA in Psychology. After graduating, I was accepted to an Americorps program called Teach For America, where I was placed teaching 7th grade math in Miami, Florida. The purpose of the program is to expand opportunity for low-income students, and provide all students with an equitable education. After my two-year term, I attended University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Here, I received my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. Following graduation, I moved to San Luis Obispo and began my career as a School Psychologist and University Professor. I have worked at various schools within Lucia Mar Unified School District and am extremely excited to work at Judkins Middle School this year! I have a passion for working with adolescents, and ensuring that they are supported both academically and social-emotionally.
