Hello new 5th Grade friends and families! My name is Nicole Kyvernitis and I will be your child's 5th grade ELA teacher this year!
I graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a degree in Elementary Education, and from Immaculata University with a secondary degree in Special Education. I also attended graduate school at Gratz College where I earned a masters degree in Elementary Education. receMost recently, I completed a secondary masters degree program from Gwynedd University in Educational Leadership. I am currently perusing my doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gwynedd University.
I have been a classroom teacher for 19 years. I taught 2nd grade for 2 years in Philadelphia, and was offered the amazing opportunity to begin the life skills program at both Murray Avenue and Pine Road School. I taught special education in grades K, 1, and 4 for 13 years in Lower Moreland, and for the past 4 years I've taught 5th grade! I am so eager and excited to teach 5th grade as a general education teacher this year!
I have two children- an 11 year old boy named Lucas, and a 9 year old girl named Sophia. I also have two step-children ages 10 and 12, Jack and Luke. Our family loves to spend time together playing sports, exploring the outdoors, and in the summer you will most likely find us at the beach!
My hobbies include running, hiking, cooking, and exploring new places.
I come from a long line of teachers / administrators, and have always wanted to be a teacher. I have a strong passion for reaching all students and partnering with families to ensure their children work to their fullest potential.
