Learning Games

Here are some learning games your child can play at home using everyday objects. I used beans for the math games, but anything works! If you don't have dice, an online dice roller works just as well! Here is one that shows the dots on the dice: https://www.random.org/dice/

Egg Carton Counting

Write numbers on the inside of an egg carton and have your child put objects in to match the number.

Roll and Count

Have your child roll dice and count out objects, practicing number recognition and one-to-one correspondence. If you use dice with dots, they can also practice subitizing! They can also practice writing their numbers if you have them write down what they rolled.

Have your child roll two dice and count out objects. Then, have them tell you which number is larger. They are practicing number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, and making comparisons. If you use dice with dots, they can also practice subitizing!

Have your child roll two dice and count out objects. Then have them count out how many objects they have all together. This is really good for practicing one-to-one correspondence. If they are having trouble counting one object at a time, have them line up the objects like I did in the picture.
