DIVERSITY
Dear Lower Merion Families,
We wanted to share very important resources that will help you speak to your child about current events in our nation. We know that children may be feeling scared, angry and/or confused. When students do not feel safe and supported, it is very difficult for them to learn and thrive. As a district, we have had ongoing conversations regarding acceptance of differences, race and equality. We wish to inspire our children to be respectful, embrace diversity and speak out against injustice. We wanted to support your discussions by providing information in one central location. Although these conversations may be challenging, we know that children begin to recognize racial and cultural differences prior to school age. The Lower Merion School District motto is Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve. Let’s work together to help this generation learn to be leaders and of service to all people.
