Timeline
Each senior is assigned to a class with an advisor - the class meets once per cycle.
The advisor’s primary role is to guide the senior through the following meetings and assignments.
Please note: The advisor has discretion as to when assignments are submitted within the window provided below (i.e. an Advisor could choose to have Assignments 3 and 4 submitted on March 2nd while another Advisor may choose to have students submit the same Assignments on March 11th).
By January 30, 2026 Introduction to the Senior Project
Seniors are introduced to the project by the senior project coordinator.
Assignment 1 given: What do I have to do to pass the senior project?
February 2 - February 11, 2026 Senior Project Expectations
First meeting with advisor
Complete and submit Assignment 1.
Expectations clarified where necessary.
Assignment 2 given: Researching Essential Questions and Mentors
February 17 - February 27, 2026 Essential Questions and Mentor Options
Meeting with advisor
Discussion of Assignment 2 – Researching Essential Questions and Mentors
Discuss how to find a mentor.
Complete and submit Assignment 2.
Assignment 3 given: Submitting Your Essential Question
Assignment 4 given: Submitting Parental Permission/Release for Participation
March 2 - March 13, 2026 Assignment 3, Assignment 4, and the Project Proposal
Meeting with advisor
Complete and Submit Assignment 3: Essential Question Form.
Complete and Submit Assignment 4: Parent/Guardian Permission Form.
Discussion of Developing a Project Proposal
Clarify role and expectations of Mentor.

March 16 - March 27, 2026 Final Expectations for the Senior Project – mentor, reflection, documentation and presentation

Assignments 5-6: Questions and Clarifications
April 6 - April 17, 2026 Project Proposal and Relationship with Mentor
Meet with advisor
Submit Assignments 5 and 6 – Project Proposal and Mentor Agreement.
Discussion of expectations for the experiential phase, including what you will do for your 70 hours, the roles you and your Mentor will play in this experience, and how you feel about this upcoming experience.
April 20 - May 1, 2026 Expectations for the Experiential Phase
Meet with advisor
Plan for meetings between advisor and student during the experiential phase
Review expectations for documentation and reflections
Establish time, date, location, resources, expectations for presentation; Review rubrics
Assignments 7, 8 and 9 discussed: Reflections, Final Presentation and Mentor Evaluation and Log Sheet
LAST DAY FOR SENIOR CLASSES - FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2026; EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PHASE - MAY 4- MAY 22, 2026
May 26 - June 1, 2026 Final Presentation, Demonstration, or Performance
Make final presentation.
Submit Reflection Journal.
Submit completed Mentor Evaluation Form / Log Sheet to Advisor (you cannot graduate without this completed form.).
Return your computer to the tech center.
