Standards and Learning Targets


The Senior Project is a research-based project. The senior will conduct research to prepare for and secure their field placement.


The Senior Project also requires reflective thinking, accomplished through writing and through the dialogue maintained by the senior and the advisor.


The following Pennsylvania Standards have been adapted to the project and will suggest a path for the project.


Students will:


  • analyze personal characteristics, talents, skills, and abilities as related to vocational or avocational pathways (15.2.12.A).

  • create a research project based upon defined parameters (15.3.12.C).

  • formulate a clear research question and design a methodology fro gathering and evaluating information on a chosen topic (1.8.12.A).

  • conduct inquiry and research on a self-selected topic (1.8.12.B).

  • Synthesize information from various sources (15.3.12.I).

  • Employ appropriate communication skills to lead discussions and team activities (15.3.12.G).

  • demonstrate appropriate behavior in a professional or public environment (15.2.12.H).

  • analyze how personal qualities and behavior apply in the public environment (15.2.12.L).

  • evaluate characteristics of positive role models and how these characteristics contribute to a professional image (15.3.12.M).

  • demonstrate appropriate work ethic in the community and in the workplace.

  • evaluate personal attitudes and work habits that support project success (13.3.11.A).
