LM A Cappella (LMAC) is an extracurricular activity at LMHS that allows students to participate in vocal music that does not fit in the traditional choral canon. The format of LMAC groups changes from year to year in an effort to give students a broad experience of different styles of music. It is intended to serve as an enrichment to the experience and instruction acquired in Concert Choir, but participation is open to all LMHS students. Depending on the format, an audition may be required for admission into LMAC in some years.
Some groups that have been run in the past:
Ars cantiqua (SATB, Renaissance and Medieval music)
Ace Harmony (SATB, contemporary a cappella)
Ace's Angels (SSAA, contemporary a cappella)
Flying Aces (TTBB, close harmony)
Harmony Explosion (TTBB, barbershop choir)
Boys Barbershop Quartet (TTBB, barbershop)
Soulace (SSAA, close harmony)
Standard Voices (SATB and SSAA, jazz)
Sweet Adelines (SSAA, barbershop)
LM A Cappella will run in a single group format, Ace Harmony, during the 2024-2025 school year. Rehearsal Schedules can be found on the Auditions page of this site.
Auditions will take place on Sept. 23, 26, and 27. Audition information will be available on the LMAC website in early August. See the Auditions page on this website for more information.
Officer Interviews/Auditions will take place the week of June 3-7 by appointment only. If you are interested in an officer position for this year, please email Mr. Hunnex to set up an appointment. All officer interviews include an audition.
Rehearsals will take place every Monday and Thursday after school: 3:20-4:40. If you have a significant conflict with any of the rehearsal times, please contact Mr. Hunnex to see if a solution can be found that allows you to participate.
Congratulations and welcome to our officers for 2024-2025!
