Llano and Packsaddle Elementaries participate in several local and national programs to help students develop the skills that will build a better community. We know that students can only be successful academically if they are safe and healthy. The programs that we participate in have been shown to help build a culture of kindness and respect where students can learn and grow in safety.

The goal of "Start With Hello" is to teach children and youth how to minimize social isolation, empathize with others, and create a more inclusive and connected school culture.

The Red Ribbon Campaign serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities, educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.

Grinch for Good is a local food drive where classes compete to collect canned food donations for local food pantries. In 2021, LES collected over 2,000 food items for our community!
Llano Elementary students will collect food in November and December!

The GKC initiative, presented by Kids for Peace, is a global campaign that promotes kindness in kindergarten through grade twelve schools. It is a positive, action-based bullying-prevention initiative that creates a school culture of kindness, compassion, unity, and respect.

Say Something is a program offered by Sandy Hook Promise that trains students how to identify warnings signs, intervene, and get help for individuals before they hurt themselves or others. The primary objectives of Say Something are to teach students how to:
• Look for warning signs, signals and threats
• Act immediately and take signs, signals and threats seriously
• Say Something to a trusted adult before someone hurts himself or others

Thousands of Texans will wear blue, the official color of prevention, to show their support for children. Many community events and activities are scheduled throughout the month to emphasize the critical importance of preventing child abuse and neglect and keeping children safe. Join us and GO BLUE!

Play it Safe!® child abuse awareness and prevention program uses age-appropriate materials to educate children Pre-K through high school in ways they can best learn and respond. Scripts and videos are developed through an evidence-based approach to teach children and teens how to reduce their risk of abuse by recognizing potentially abusive behavior, responding appropriately to threatening situations, and reporting abuse to a trusted adult.
LES Workshop Wednesday
At LES, we have weekly workshop groups for students to come to Ms. Wooten's office to play games and practice important skills such as communication, taking turns, sharing, working with others, and showing respect to other people.
At PES, we have weekly Character Strong lessons for students to learn about and practice the monthly character traits of Kindness, Respect, Responsibility, Gratitude, Empathy, Perserverance, Honesty, Cooperation, Courage, and Creativity through classroom discussion, sing-along videos, collaborative games, role-play, and hands-on activities.
