The participants are invited to submit the abstract of their research papers/posters for presentation at the conference. The submitted abstracts will be screened and the decision on their selection will be communicated to the participants. Prizes for the Best Research Paper Presentation during the Annual Conference
In order to encourage and inspire young researchers, eight prizes will be awarded to the best research paper presented in the following categories during the Annual Conference. Each of these prizes carries a certificate and a memento. The details of these prizes and the related research areas are as follows:
IMS Prize Group-1: Discrete Mathematics (Combinatorics, Graph Theory, Posets), Lattice Theory, Set Theory, Logic, Number Theory and related areas.
IMS Prize Group-2: Geometry, Algebraic Geometry, Topology, Algebraic Topology, and related areas.
IMS Prize Group-3: Measure Theory, Probability Theory, Stochastic Processes, and related areas.
IMS Prize Group-4: Differential / Integral / Functional equations and inequalities, Special Functions, Numerical Analysis and related areas.
IMS Prize Group-5: Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Electromagnetic Theory, Magneto-hydrodynamics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Relativity and related areas.
IMS Prize Group-6: Operations Research, Optimization, Computational Mathematics, Information Technology, Bio-mathematics, History of Mathematics and related areas.
AMU Prize: Algebra, Differential Geometry and Functional Analysis.
V. M. Shah Prize: Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Fourier Analysis, Harmonic Analysis, Approximation Theory and related areas.
A. Narasinga Rao Memorial Prize: The A. Narasinga Rao Memorial Prize is given in the Annual Conference of the Society for the best paper published in 2024 either in The Journal of the Indian Mathematical Society or in The Mathematics Student. The Prize carries a Certificate and Cash prize of Rs. 4000.
P. L. Bhatnagar Memorial Prize: Awarded to the top scorer(s) from the Indian Team at the International Mathematical Olympiad. The Prize is given during inaugural function of the Annual Conference of the IMS.
In an endeavour to appreciate good research work, the IMS has instituted Awards for research publications in specific areas. Each such award carries a citation and a cash prize. The General Secretary invites applications for these Awards every year. At present the IMS has the following awards: A. K. Agarwal Award, A. M. Mathai Award, Satish Bhatnagar Award, Subhash Bhatt Award, P. K. Jain Award, B. N. Waphare Award, J. B. Shukla Award, and Satya Deo Award.
