High School Schedule

During the school year, there are 2 semesters, each with 4 classes per day that are 75 minutes in length. 

Below is what a typical day would look like.

Bell Times

Opening Exercises 8:05-8:07

Period A 8:07am - 9:22am

Break - 9:22am-9:32am

Period B 9:32am - 10:47am

Lunch 10:47am - 11:33am

Period C 11:33am - 12:48pm

Break - 12:48pm-12:58pm

Period D 12:58pm - 2:13pm

Semester 1 runs from September to the end of January. 

Semester 2 runs from February until the end of June. 

Report Cards

Provincial report cards go home each semester. One is a midterm report card that is sent home halfway through the semester, and the other is the final report card which is sent home at the end of the semester. Teachers also send home progress reports 1/4 and 3/4 of the way through the semester.

Students will receive a JMSS Option Sheet from their grade 8 teachers.

DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS 

Students must achieve a total of 30 credits in order to graduate with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).  This means a student must pass 30 different courses. 

Students are required to attain 18 compulsory credits and 12 elective credits. 

Please see below for an explanation of the distribution of credits.

Additional Graduation Requirements

On top of the 30 credits that are required to graduate with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma...

Students need 40 hours of community involvement

And students need to successfully complete the Literacy Component (EQAO/OSSLT)
