1st Place winners for the Nuclear Science week Competition

Nuclear Science Week (NSW) is an international, broadly observed week-long celebration to focus local, regional, national, and international interest on all aspects of nuclear science. NSW takes place each year in the third week of October, and each day of NSW provides for learning about the contributions, innovations, and opportunities that can be found by exploring nuclear science.

WIT Jr. Members Advanced to TXSEF in TAMU, College Station

6th – 12th grade students competed in regional science and engineering fairs across Texas during January, February and March to advance to the state fair. The fair includes 20+ categories spanning across engineering, biological sciences and physical sciences.

The State science Fair was held at TAMU in College Station. While there the students were given a tour of the Nuclear Plant Institute where they were recognized and received a certificate and a goodie bag in recognition for their hard work, thank you Dr. Segovia and your staff for giving our kids such a great opportunity to tour the facility and answer questions regarding Nuclear energy and future career paths.

Lorenzo De Zavala's WIT Jr program was highlighted in the Nuclear Power Institute's Winter 2020 Newsletter for having 100% of its members (50) register and earn their Clean SMARTS Master Class certificate of completion.
