What We Offer

PIANO

Students will learn the rudiments of the piano and basic music concepts such as sight reading, ear training, rhythmic notation, and fingerings.

VOICE

LJMS voice students will learn the basics of breathing, correct posture, tone production, diction, and pitch training. The class will offer vocal and physical warm-ups to prevent vocal injury as well as learning to work with an accompanist. Projection, timing, in addition to phrasing are key elements in making a song come to life. These lessons can help our young learners prepare for school presentations and auditions through vocal coaching, staging instruction, and help in choosing repertoire.

GUITAR

All guitarists will learn to read tablature as well as standardized music notation, chords, finger picking, lead guitar, and rhythm technique. Students will learn about  dynamics, musical interpretation, scales, arpeggios, dexterity,  listening skills, left and right hand independence, coordination, reading skills and improvisational creativity.

Join our weekly theater and chorus class. This class offers music of all genres from gospel to musical theater. Our students also work ono various skits. Students will benefit from this class by improving memorization, public speaking, ensemble work and the opportunity to perform in the community. 

LJMS offers remote classes in all instruments, with gives the flexibility of having your lesson from the comfort of your own home. This online music class will further the students musical journey in a way that prioritizes flexibility and well-being.  In addition to their instrument, students need a laptop computer, tablet, or mobile phone with both audio and video capabilities to participate to take the class. 

Discover the joy of studying music in a welcoming and pressure-free environment. Our classes for adults will introduce you to the basics of music theory. The ability to read music is not required for beginners.
