Leadership

Mr. Seighman received his undergraduate degree in Music Education from ULM.  He also received a Master's degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from LSU.  Before coming to Walker H.S., Mr. Seighman was Choir Director for 2 years and Assistant Band Director at Parkview Baptist School for 4 years where he worked with 5th-12th grade band.  In 2006, Mr. Seighman received the honor of Wal-Mart "Teacher of the Year" and the Walker High School “Teacher of the Year.” He was honored again in 2014 as Walker High Teacher of the Year. In 2009 and again in 2019, Mr. Seighman achieved National Board Certification.  He is currently a judge for the Louisiana Music Adjudicators Association. 

Associate Director of Bands since 2014

Mr. Hirst received his undergraduate degree and Master's degree in Music Education from LSU. Before coming to Walker High, he was Assistant Band Director for 2 years and Band Director for 10 years at Parkview Baptist School where he worked with 5th-12th grade band.  He is currently the President of the District IV Band Directors Association and Vice President of the Livingston Parish Band Directors Association. Mr. Hirst is currently a judge for the Louisiana Music Adjudicators Association.
