This past week, in CKLA Knowledge we read the following stories: The Trail of Tears, Westward on the Oregon Trail, and The Pony Express. Ask your child how the Trail of Tears got its name (many Cherokee died on their way when they were forced to move).
Last week, we took our lesson 13 quiz. Quizzes will be returned in your child's take home folder on Monday. We also started lesson 14, Compare Three Digit Numbers. Ask your child how to compare numbers. Begin in the greatest place value (the hundreds). For example, when comparing 678 and 342, begin by comparing 6 and 3 in the hundreds place. Since 6>3, 678>342.
This week's SEL lesson was Empathy in Action. We discussed a time when we felt proud for a family or friend when they felt proud. Next, we talked about what we did in that situation, and how that connects with having empathy.
We had a blast on Global School Play Day, and were fortunate to be able to enjoy some outdoor play, as well as indoor play!
