The technology education department offers students a pre-engineering program called Project Lead the Way (PLTW). The pre–engineering program is a five-unit sequence designed to explore technology related careers and to prepare for two or four year college technical and engineering programs. Each class uses state–of–the–art equipment and software and is taught in a laboratory setting that involves projects rather than lectures to learn the material. Classes focus on problem solving and encouraging students to work in teams. In many cases, students earn college credit through area colleges and universities. More information about Project Lead the Way is available at pltw.org.
Graduation requirements for all LHS students include 1 credit in Art and/or Music. This requirement may be satisfied by the successful completion of any of the following course options:

2. Any 1-credit Music course except Performing Arts 1 and 2 (1)
