Technology Education provides students an opportunity to apply technological knowledge and skills to design, construct, use, and evaluate products and systems to satisfy human and environmental needs.
The courses for technology education have been developed using a strand system. Each strand contains a series of courses that allow students to explore different technical career paths or develop a sequence in a particular field. The strands are: Design and Communication Technology, Design and Computer 2D/3D Modeling Technology, Control and Manufacturing Technology, and Project Lead the Way Engineering sequence. Students are encouraged to select courses and strands of study in terms of their interests and career needs.
Note: Some courses have the option of earning college credit. For questions or concerns please call your school counselor, department administrator or department chair.
All students seeking a 5 unit Technology Education sequence for graduation must include:
1. Design & Drawing for Production or PLTW Design & Drawing for Production
2. Additional electives in the various strands to total 5 units of credit.
