The autopsy report of Matthew Perry’s body has recently come out to the public. Our sources say that he had leftover Ketamine in his system. This drug has evolved a great amount since its development in the 1960s as an anesthetic in humans and animals. Nowadays we use it to treat things like depression, anxiety, and other mental disorders.
The actor is said to have died from the acute effects of the mind-bending drug according to the autopsy. The 54-year-old was found after accidentally drowning yet the autopsy has shown he still had Ketamine in his system.
In 2006, researchers at the National Institutes of Health found that some doses of Ketamine can help lessen the effects of depression in just a few hours. Compared to other drugs like Zoloft and Prozac which can take weeks to go into effect and sometimes don’t even work. Doctors are also trying to extend the effects of Ketamine to treat PTSD and substance abuse patients.
Perry had been receiving Ketamine treatments for his issues like depression and anxiety. The drug tends to work fast but it only has a half-lifetime of a couple of hours so it is very unlikely that that was what truly killed him. It is known that Perry's last treatment had been a week and a half before he died yet his body still contained the drug.
It is uncertain when or where Perry had gotten more Ketamine in the time before he drowned.
