In 2022, Liverpool Swim and Dive went against Fayetteville Manlius. Previously FM had been undefeated for seven years with a 64 meet streak but Liverpool was out for blood.
Finally FM was going to lose.
When FM’s first place 200 medley relay disqualified it put the edge off giving Liverpool hope. The score going back and forth between who got first, second, and third. It had never mattered so much to get second, third, fourth and fifth. While FM was trying to get first Liverpool was going for everything else and that prevailed.
While FM won diving Liverpool got every other spot. Liverpool in an attempt to win tried their hardest to keep a slim lead.
In very close races and not many of them won by Liverpool, it was tied going into the last event. It was a race to see who wanted it more and Liverpool proved that they wanted and needed to see FM go down. In a score 96-90 Liverpool won, to prove victorious. FM showed that they were very unhappy with the loss and that resulted in them showing very unsportsmanlike rewards as well as refusing to congratulate Liverpool.
On Wednesday, September 27 Liverpool goes up against FM. Both teams want the title but who is more willing to put their reputation on the line.
