On September 22, 2023, the CDC approved the new COVD-19 vaccine. The vaccine was available in local Wegmans, Walgreens, CVS and other local drug stores and pharmacies and your regular provider/doctors office.
What does this mean for the status of the pandemic?
People are starting to see COVID as something akin to the flu. Has the seriousness of COVID-19 decreased? For people who are not at high risk, the fear of contracting the virus has definitely declined, although there is still some weariness.
As of September 13, 2023 there have been 770,778,396 reported cases of COVID and 6,958,499 deaths recorded globally.
