About the Library
Mission Statement
The Littleton High School Library provides students and faculty with the resources and services necessary not only to support and enhance the curriculum, but to inspire creativity, intellectual curiosity, and the passion to become lifelong learners.
Philosophy
In the information driven world of today, the School Library Program plays an integral role in the education process. As new information technologies emerge, it is the responsibility of the School Library Program to evaluate which resources can best enhance the curriculum and enrich students' individual learning experiences. The School Library Media Specialist exists to teach information literacy skills to both students and staff, providing them with the tools necessary to effectively identify, evaluate, organize and present information in a variety of formats. Through a successful Library Media Program, students are able to become effective and ethical users of information. The library media center also aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for all students, and be a place where social emotional learning can flourish.
