The individual interests of each child are shared and valued. Fine motor skills are exercised with sensory activities and arts and crafts. An appreciation of literature and music is fostered through sharing and role playing. Skills of independence and self-help are shared and encouraged. The act of sharing and the value of friendship are constant themes. It is highly encouraged that children in the 3 year old class be potty trained. Our staff is happy to work with you to help potty train your 3 year old.
We are excited to offer an Extended Day Program for our Foxes! Beginning at 12:15 p.m. with a community lunch, this program provides extra time for your child to dive into science experiments, creative media, and active play. Led by a dedicated Preschool teacher, the afternoon focuses on fostering the independence and confidence your child will need for Pre-Kindergarten. Because consistency is key at this age, we ask that families enroll for the full school year to ensure a stable and thriving environment for all our young learners.

This LPS program enhances a child's acquired skills and promotes growth in all areas of development. Language arts, math, science, music, and art are staples of this developmental program. Each learner is viewed as an individual. Hands-on activities are provided in a center play-based arrangement to allow children the opportunity to learn at their own pace through discovery. Occasional field trips provide children with a valuable extension of the curriculum.
The Extended Day Program is for children in the 4 year class (Owls). The program is designed to support pre-k learners to help them prepare for kindergarten.

The Extended Day Program provides additional time for educational experiences and play. The staff will design activities to enhance you child's exposure to letter recognition, math skills, science experiments, social play and gross motor development. The Extended Day Program will help your child foster independence and self help skills to grow their confidence in anticipation of moving into kindergarten. The program is designed to extend the school day to provide extra educational play time. The program is instructed by an Owls teacher.
Extended Day is a program that your child will attend for the entire school year. LPS will not be able to switch your child back to the morning only program during the school year.
Extended Day Program is a separate program from Lunch Bunch.
Our new Fall Fives Program is specifically designed for children who turn five in the fall months and just miss the traditional Kindergarten cut-off date. To enroll, children must reach their fifth birthday by December 30th. This program serves as a bridge, providing older Pre-K learners with the structure and independence they need to thrive in a full-time school environment.
A Specialized Curriculum By utilizing longer school days, the program helps children acclimate to the rhythm of a Kindergarten schedule. Our curriculum carefully balances purposeful play with academic instruction, allowing for multi-day projects that deepen comprehension and skill-building. With a low 1:8 teacher-to-child ratio, we offer an intimate setting that fosters social, emotional, and cognitive development. Your child will engage in hands-on science experiments and gross motor play while strengthening their letter recognition and math skills.
