Hours and Pick-Up
Please refer to the Programs page for information on dates and times.
Please make every effort to arrive on time. If an emergency arises, and you are going to be late to pick up your child after school, please call, text or email the school as soon as possible. A late fee payable to the school will be applicable.
Illnesses and Emergencies
If your child is ill and cannot attend school, please call, text or email or click this link to Contact Us before the start of school. LPS asks that you keep your child at home if he or she is ill and not well enough to participate in class or going outdoors.
If your child becomes ill during school hours, you will be notified immediately and you will need to pick up your child as soon as possible as we do not have the staff or a room in which to isolate your child.
If your child stays home, or is dismissed early because of sickness, they may return their next scheduled day of class, providing they are symptom free for 24 hours or have been cleared by a physician note to re-enter the program.
Your child must be fever free without any fever reducing medications for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
In case of an emergency, 911 will be called if applicable and parent/guardian contacts will be notified immediately. Please note that families are responsible for any and all healthcare expenses incurred.
We are not able to reduce tuition due to illness.
Absenteeism
If you choose to have your child miss class due to vacation (or any other voluntary reason), please call, text or email us click this link to Contact Us to confirm the absence.
We are not able to reduce tuition due to absences.
Snow Days and School Cancellation
When Nashua Public Schools are canceled due to snow or weather conditions the Little Pilgrim School will be closed for the entire day. If the Nashua Public Schools have a delayed opening, the Little Pilgrim School will be closed.
Transportation
Transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. If anyone else is picking up your child, please notify the Director in writing via email. For your child’s protection, we will not release your child to an unauthorized adult. We will check identification when someone else is picking up your child.
Clothing
Children should wear clothing and shoes appropriate for the weather and outdoor play. Children love all nature has to offer, so, we hope you understand that their clothes may get dirty!
Since the children will be working with a variety of art materials, please dress them in clothes that you will not be concerned if/when they are damaged by paint, clay, etc.
Mittens are the preferred choice for winter hand protection. Gloves are acceptable if your child is able to put them on themselves.
All hood ties must be removed from outdoor clothing, and scarves are not permitted.
Please send an extra set of clothes in case of a water accident. Mark all clothing with the child’s name.
Peanut and Nut-Free Snacks Policy
Little Pilgrim School is a peanut and nut-free facility.
Each child is expected to bring in their own snack each day and a water bottle. All snacks should be inspected at home for ingredients to comply with the LPS peanut and nut policy noted above. If it is found that your child’s snack is not safe, our staff will notify you and give your child a safe, alternative snack. No homemade goods are allowed as LPS cannot guarantee the environment of each person’s kitchen and equipment used. Purchased baked goods may be brought in as long as you provide a label that confirms that the purchased baked good was baked in a certified peanut/nut free kitchen/bakery. Please address any food allergy concerns to your child’s teachers. Please include the label of all snacks with you child's snack daily if it is a prepackaged snack. Raw fruits and vegetables are allowed. LPS is not able to allow cooked fruits and vegetables because LPS cannot guarantee that the item was cooked in a peanut/nut free environment.
Birthdays and Play Dates
Birthdays are a very special time. LPS will acknowledge your child’s birthday with cards and singing happy birthday. A child can celebrate by having a family member come in to read a book to the class. If a family member is not available, the child can bring in their favorite book in for the teacher to read. LPS is not able to accept birthday treats. Treats are a special thing that can be shared with family outside of school. This is also in keeping with our peanut/nut-free policy.
Because children can feel left out and upset when not invited to a birthday party or hear about play dates, LPS asks that invitations not be distributed in school or that plans not be made with other children present. School should be a happy place where everyone is included. Please use the school directory that will be provided for phone numbers and email addresses.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Conferences will be scheduled for all classes during the school year.
However, a parent or guardian should feel free to speak with the teacher or the director at any time to discuss their child’s progress. Teachers are not available for conferences during school hours. Please e-mail your child’s teacher and the LPS director to set up a conference.
Health Forms
The State of New Hampshire requires that each child must have up-to-date immunization records, and a current physical examination according to the schedule prescribed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. This form must be returned to the school before your child can attend classes. Should your child’s health form expire during the school year, a new health form must be submitted within 60 days of the form expiring.
Concerns
All concerns should be discussed with the Little Pilgrim School Director or submitted in writing to the Little Pilgrim School Committee. Please call the school office, text the school cell phone (603-809-1745) or email the school director at info@littlepilgrimschool.org with any concerns.
Registration
Registration is held in January or February of each year. Parents/Guardians of currently enrolled students will be pre-notified of this date and will have first priority for registration. Enrollment will be held in mid-January or mid-February for the public. Registration fees are payable each year and are non refundable.
School Year Withdrawal
In the event that a child needs to be withdrawn during the school year, the director should be notified, in writing, as soon as it known that the child will be withdrawn. The registration fee is nonrefundable.
If notification of withdrawal occurs with 30 days’ notice, tuition will be prorated.
Tuition
Tuition payments are collected in 10 monthly installments and are due by the first day of each month. The first payment is due on June 1st of the current school year for the following school year. The second payment is due September 1st of the current school year. If you enroll your child during the summer or during the next school year, the installments will be prorated based on the number of installment payments left in the school year.
Please mail all tuition checks, made payable to Little Pilgrim School to:
Little Pilgrim School, Attn: Collector
4 Watson Street
Nashua, NH 03064
Tuition can also be paid via PayPal, please ask the Director or the Collector for more information.
A 10% discount will be applied to families with multiple children enrolled at Little Pilgrim School. A late fee of $10 will be assessed on any payment more than 5 days late.
Checks returned for insufficient funds will be charged a $20 fee in addition to any charges assessed by the bank. We will redeposit once without notice.
In the event of chronic late tuition payments, we will have to request that a family pay the remainder of the school year's tuition installments to avoid future delinquency.
Any concerns regarding the payment of tuition must be discussed with the Little Pilgrim School Director. A child’s enrollment status will be jeopardized if tuition payment issues are not communicated with the school and resolved.
