Listen and Read Along – Videos showing text and a voiced reading of the text. Good practice which can be done independently.
English with Jennifer – Videos with closed caption. Subjects include typical conversations, grammar lessons, vocabulary, etc.
Rachel’s English – Lots of videos on YouTube. It is suggested that when you view this page you click on “Playlists” at the top, This will take you to different topics for which there are multiple videos on each topic. To see the full list of videos on a topic, click on “VIEW FULL PLAYLIST” under the topic. These videos can be viewed by the Learner independently or with the Tutor.
Rhyming Quiz – A test on word pronunciation for words that do or do not rhyme. Learners can take this independently or with a Tutor watching.
Listening and pronunciation - These exercises focus on sounds, syllables and stress in words to improve your listening and pronunciation skills.
YouGLISH – Type in a word and click on the “Say It “ button (after clicking on the “US” button ) and you will be taken to a YouTube video in which the word is pronounced within a few seconds in an American accent. Once you hear the pronunciation you can stop the video. Clicking the “Say it” button again replays the video.
