Enterprise & Creative Innovation Elective
The world is changing at an unprecedented pace. ChatGPT, automation and artificial intelligence, the gig economy, globalisation and more flexible working arrangements are rapidly reshaping our society and our economy. By 2030 it seems like every single job across the economy is going to look different. It is predicted that you will have an average of 17 different jobs over 5 careers in your lifetime.
Have you got a burning idea on how to improve the world?
Have you ever thought about how something you do could be made easier using technology?
Have you got an invention that you would love to create?
This elective might be for you.
The aim of this elective is to spark your interest in entrepreneurial vocations and learn how to work collaboratively, entrepreneurially, and innovatively to solve real-world problems. You will gain and apply knowledge, deepen your understanding, and develop collaborative, creative and critical thinking skills within authentic, real-world contexts. The course uses inquiry, problem and project-based learning approaches to solve problems and produce practical solutions by designing, creating and managing a social enterprise.
Privileging a collaborative, entrepreneurial STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Arts, Mathematics) approach, this elective will include involvement in the $20 Boss program and culminate in the participation in the STEM Make a Difference Competition.
