For Kady, the highlight of her high school career has been discovering her passion for science, which has helped shape her plans. She has stayed actively involved in school activities, including cheerleading, Spanish Club, Key Club, and National Honor Society.
After graduation, Kady plans to attend Youngstown State University, where she intends to major in either chemistry or astrophysics.
Her advice to younger students is to "never stop putting in effort," emphasizing that consistent hard work from start to finish is key to success.
Lorraine Korda is a strong academic student recognized as the 3rd-ranked student in the Class of 2026. She says earning a spot in the top ten feels exciting, especially knowing how much effort it took to get there. Her success comes from consistently working hard and maintaining strong grades throughout high school.
For Lorraine, the highlight of her high school career has been the wide range of new experiences she’s had along the way. She has been highly involved in school activities, including National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, FFA, Junior Fair Board, Class of 2026 Officers, Blue Pride Marching Band, Drama Club, and the Kent State Rising Scholars program.
Outside of school, Lorraine works at Subway in Lisbon and studies Veterinary Science Technology at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center. After graduation, she plans to attend Ohio State ATI to study Agricultural Education.
Her advice to younger students is to “stay resilient and not give up, even when things feel overwhelming.” She believes challenges are a part of life, and choosing to face them with a positive mindset can lead to better outcomes than expected.
Benjamin Weber is a strong academic student who is recognized as the 4th-ranked student of the Class of 2026. He describes his place in the top ten as both an honor and a surprise, noting that he wasn’t even sure he was still in consideration. His success, he explains, comes from consistently working hard in class and giving his best effort on end-of-course exams.
One of the defining moments of Ben’s high school career was his decision to step away from football in his senior year to focus on the MCCTC tech department. That choice opened the door to major opportunities, including his current job, his role as IT director for Hanover Township, and earning industry certifications like CompTIA A+ and Network+. He credits this path with shaping both his skills and his future.
Ben has been heavily involved throughout high school, participating in organizations such as the National Technical Honors Society, MCCTC Student Tech Crew, and Business Professionals of America, where he won a state championship in server administration. He also competed in SkillsUSA and was previously active in football, track, and the chess club.
After graduation, Ben plans to attend Youngstown State University to study Electrical Engineering Technologies while continuing to grow his IT work and certifications. He hopes to eventually pursue a career in operational technology security.
His advice to younger students is simple: “Don’t be afraid to make choices that benefit you, even if they go against what others expect.”
Khloe Wedberg is a strong academic student who is recognized as the 5th-ranked student of the Class of 2026. She says she feels proud and accomplished to be in the top ten, crediting her success to staying dedicated to her classes and consistently doing her best on every assignment.
Khloe considers the highlight of her high school career to be the many opportunities she’s had to meet new people while building a strong foundation for her future. She has been actively involved in music, participating in two years of marching band as part of the drumline and three years of concert band, where she played both flute and percussion. She also serves as the cosmetology class secretary at the career center.
After graduation, Khloe plans to earn her cosmetology license and pursue a career as a hairstylist, with a particular interest in vivid color and alternative styling. Outside of school, she enjoys crocheting, reading, and listening to music, and she has worked at McDonald’s throughout high school, advancing to roles as a crew trainer and shift lead.
She has also found success in competition, earning first place twice at SkillsUSA local events and advancing to regionals both times. Her advice to younger students is to "stay consistent and push through challenges," emphasizing that "dedication makes even the most overwhelming moments more manageable."
Kamryn Peruchetti is a strong academic student recognized as the 6th-ranked student in the Class of 2026. She says she feels very excited to see her hard work pay off, crediting her success to staying on top of her grades throughout all four years of high school.
One of the highlights of Kamryn's high school experience was being crowned homecoming queen, a moment she says stands out among many memories. She has been actively involved in a variety of activities, including Key Club, Spanish Club, Health Careers Club, softball, and cheerleading. She also serves as the class historian and has taken College Credit Plus (CCP) courses.
After graduation, Kamryn plans to attend Bowling Green State University to study early childhood education.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog. Her advice to younger students is simple: "Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone."
Jayden Smyth is a strong academic student recognized as the top 7th student in the Class of 2026. She says she feels blessed to see her hard work pay off and to be able to represent her school positively academically. Jayden credits her success to dedication, determination, and consistently putting in the time to complete everything asked of her.
One of the most meaningful parts of her high school experience has been meeting her friends and growing into the person she is today. She has stayed active in both academics and extracurriculars, participating in Spanish Club, Art Club as an editor, and Key Club, while also competing in basketball and track.
After graduation, Jayden plans to attend Geneva College, where she will study Environmental Engineering and continue playing basketball.
Outside of school, she enjoys interests such as Spider-Man, Coraline, and video games like Roblox, and she has also competed in the world’s largest basketball tournament. She is one of four siblings.
Her advice to younger students is straightforward: “Take your grades seriously and always strive to do your best.”
