Lisbon Journalism - Newspaper Staff

Mr. Walker graduated from Notre Dame College with his Bachelor's in English and Education. He obtained his Master's of Education from Ashland University in Educational Leadership with a Principal's License. He is in his eighth year of teaching and fifth at Lisbon. He teaches 9th and 12th-grade English along with 11th-grade American Literature and Communications. This year, he is excited to continue teaching the Journalism elective and advise the Students' Voice publication. In his free time, Mr. Walker enjoys drumming, running, golfing, collecting coins, and hanging out with his family and pets.

Morgan Gough

(Editor-In-Chief)

Morgan Gough is originally from Akron, Ohio. Morgan moved to Lisbon when she was 2 years old and has lived here ever since. Morgan is the Editor-In-Chief; she helps edit, oversees everything, and assigns writers with stories. Morgan has gone to D.A.H.S. her whole life. Morgan’s hobbies are track, throwing shot put, and listening to music. Morgan’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Mundy. Morgan says she is in Journalism because she thinks it is entertaining and a learning experience. She is the Editor in Chief this year in journalism. The class that Morgan likes the most is video production because it’s fun. After she graduates, Morgan plans to go to nursing school to be a NICU nurse.

Marcus Miller

(Managing Editor Podcast Team, and Host)

Marcus Miller is a podcast producer and managing editor for Journalism. Marcus is a Senior student at Lisbon DAHS. Marcus will be focused on co-hosting the podcast with Logan Sturgeon and reporting and writing on Lisbon sports. Marcus is an active member of the Football team and the National Honor Society. Marcus enjoys weightlifting and spending time with friends and family. Marcus plans to attend college and become a physical therapist.

Elianna Alicea

(Managing Editor and Podcast Team)

Elianna Alicea is a freshman at D.A.H.S. and works as a managing editor, website designer, and podcast member. She focuses on editing podcast videos and reviewing her workmates’ articles. Elianna enjoys listening to music, playing video games, and dancing to Just Dance. She’s involved in journalism because she loves creative writing and has an interest in video editing. And she has also participated in Power of the Pen. In the future, she hopes to be an actress and attend Kent State University. In her free time, she spends time with her two cats: Bean, who is energetic and mischievous, and Lola, who is shy and introverted. Fun fact: Elianna enjoys musicals and even participated in a school musical last year.

Hannah Sprouse

Hannah Sprouse was born in Salem, Ohio, but she was raised in Lisbon, Ohio. Hannah is a senior in high school this year. She is a Senior/Copy Editor in this year's journalism class. Hannah enjoys taking car rides, exploring new areas, and spending time with close friends. In her free time, she hangs out with her family and her significant other. Her favorite teacher is Mr. Burnell, and her favorite subject is science. After high school, Hannah plans to attend nursing school to earn her nursing degree. She loves to help people and make them feel cared for. Hannah´s message for underclassmen is to have fun and make memories.

Abby Miller

(Senior/Copy Editor, Website Design, and Podcast Team)

Abagayle Miller is a Senior/Copy Editor, part of the website design team, as well as part of the podcast team. Abagayle is a junior at David Anderson Jr./Sr. High School. Her main role is being Senior Editor and being a part of the podcast team, usually focusing on sports, issues inside the school, and major problems in the outside world that affect students. Abagayle’s interests are music, drumming, art, reading books, and lifting. Abagayle is involved because she enjoys writing and talking about issues and things going on in our town or school. And she is the sister of Marcus and Peyton Miller.

Aiden Davis

(Senior/Copy Editor, Website Design)

Aiden Davis is a junior at David Anderson High School. He is a Senior/Copy Editor and a member of the Website Design Team for Journalism. Aiden is also on the Lisbon Blue Devils football team, playing tailback on offense and outside linebacker on defense. He enjoys video games, anime, cars, and football, and likes spending time with friends and his significant other while staying active. After high school, Aiden hopes to attend college to study Crime Scene Investigation and pursue a career in the field. Aiden also loves food and loves to eat.

Hannah Davis

(Senior/Copy Editor, Website Design)

Hannah Davis is a Junior at David Anderson J/S High School. She is our Senior/Copy Editor who focuses on the design of the whole website and writes articles. She was born in Midland, Pennsylvania, but grew up in Lisbon, Ohio her whole life. After High School, Hannah wants to go to Youngstown State University to become a Mental Health Therapist through a facility. Hannah is taking college classes through Kent State University. She enjoys drawing, playing volleyball, reading thriller books, taking notes, and hanging out with her close friends. Hannah hopes to get good grades this year and make new friends with underclassmen.

Reagan Smith

(Senior/Copy Editor, Website Design)

Reagan Smith is a sophomore at D.A.H.S. and has lived in Lisbon her whole life, though she hopes to move out right after graduation. She would love to visit Massachusetts, especially Boston, or Los Angeles, California. Reagan’s favorite subjects are English and Journalism because she enjoys writing stories and essays. Her favorite teachers are Mr. Walker and Mrs. Mundy. Reagan serves as a Senior/Copy Editor for Journalism and looks forward to helping create and edit new projects for the 2025–2026 school year. Fun fact: She has been involved in theater for about eleven years.

Peyton Miller

(Podcast Team)

Peyton Miller is a part of the podcast team. Peyton Miller is a freshman for David Anderson Jr.Sr. High school. Peyton wants to focus on sports such as football and basketball. He is very experienced in photography and videography. Peyton plays golf and hopes to pursue a career in golf after graduating from high school and attending college. Peyton is also a type 1 diabetic and lives with it every day while enjoying his sports and photography.

Marlie Mills

Marlie Mills is a freshman at D.A.H.S. She spent part of her early life in Salem before moving to Lisbon in second grade. Marlie is a member of the Website Design Team, where she works to make the site look its best. In her free time, she enjoys coding, crocheting, and cooking. She has also been involved in theater since fifth grade. Marlie is passionate about writing, which is why she is involved in journalism. She hopes to attend college and become a composite sketch artist.

Sara Mayer

(Website Design Team and Podcast Team)

Sara Mayer was born in Salem, Ohio, and raised in Lisbon, Ohio. She has gone to D.A.H.S. her whole life and is now in her junior year. Sara plays volleyball and throws shot put and discus for track and field. Her favorite class is video production because it’s fun, and she is a member of both the Podcast and Website teams for Journalism, where she brings energy and creativity to every project. She also attends the Columbiana County Career Center for Criminal Justice. After high school, Sara plans to attend a nine-month police academy and pursue her dream of becoming a police officer.

Sydney Trimnel

(Podcast Team)

Sydney Trimnel is 14 years old. Sydney has gone to D.A.H.S. her whole life. Sydney is in freshman in high school. Sydney’s hobbies are volleyball, cheer, and J.O. Sydney has plans to attend nursing school to be a trauma nurse. She loves dogs, and her favorite teacher is Mr. Haludy. She also loves English, and Sydney is in journalism because she loves to write. Her best friend is Aubree Burris. And she loves school spirit.

Eva House

(Podcast Team)

Eva House was born in Salem, Ohio, and has lived in different parts of the state. She has attended Salem, United Local, Beaver Local, and now D.A.H.S., where she is a freshman. Eva is a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball and softball, competing in shot put and discus for track and field, and participating in marching band and pep band. She enjoys playing sports, going on trips with friends, and writing. In junior high, she was part of Power of the Pen and competed at the state level at Ashland University. In Journalism, Eva confidently covers sports, with a focus on softball and basketball. She hopes to attend the Career and Tech Center for welding and earn a sports scholarship; if not, she plans to enlist in the army.

Logan Strugeon

(Podcast Team and Co-Host)

Logan Sturgeon is a junior at David Anderson Jr./Sr. High School, and works as a podcast producer and writer. He focuses on co-hosting the podcast with Marcus Miller while covering golf, basketball, and baseball. Logan is also active in golf, baseball, and basketball. Outside of school, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding four-wheelers. After high school, Logan plans to pursue a career as an electrician or a wildlife officer. Fun fact: His best round of golf ever is a 34, which is -1 par at Valley Golf Course in Columbiana.
