The Clean Bin Project - Film Night

We would love to see you at our next film night . It will be a fun local community event with a strong environmental message of course!

We are presenting the wonderful Canadian film The Clean Bin Project. Young couple Jen and Grant go head to head in a competition to see who can end up with the least amount of waste over a year. The Clean Bin Project features laugh-out-loud moments, stop motion animations, and unforgettable imagery. This film is a fun and inspiring call to individual action that speaks to crowds of all ages.

Nibbles will be provided and the bar will be open. Some fabulous raffle prizes on offer too!

Beat the Bottle Beach Cleanup

Beat the Bottle is a unique partnership between Plastic Free Bronte and Sydney Water to tackle the issue of plastic waste in Sydney’s waterways and beaches.

On 3 February, volunteers and members of the community are invited to meet at Bronte Beach to enjoy the beats of performers Junkyard Beats, while picking up litter and raising awareness of the impact of plastics on our beaches, oceans and waterways.

FIRST 40 PARTICIPANTS TO SIGN UP WILL RECEIVE A STYLISH INSULATED STAINLESS STEEL DRINK BOTTLE. OTHER PRIZES FOR MOST RUBBISH COLLECTED!

We hope that involving the community during the clean-up will bring more awareness to the issue and inspire people to ‘be the change’ that they wish to see for our oceans.

Summer is here – the days are long, the sun is shining and it’s time to get outside and play!

On January 20 join us for a fun day of free sustainable activities and music.

Trash, Tune and Treasure: Join Seaside Scavenge beach clean-up and clothes swap event! Help us clean Bronte and then trade the litter you collect for funky secondhand clothes that have been donated by locals around Sydney. You can also join in on our upcycling workshops.

Taronga Zoomobile: Taronga Zoo is coming to you! Learn about how animals move, what they eat, where they live and how at any age or stage of our life we can make a difference to their environment and survival!

Roving Theatre: Colourful street performances of our litter squad artists.

Bag painting: Unleash your hidden creativity to bring reusable bags to life.

Ocean Action Pod: Be part of this multimedia educational experience to learn more about what’s happening with plastic in our oceans.

Exciting workshops: Join one of our workshops and learn the creative art of upcycling waste, how to garden without a garden or how to create your own nature heaven.

Plastic Free Bronte warmly invites you to watch this most beautiful and moving film ALBATROSS, by Chris Jordan. ALBATROSS will leave a lasting impression which we hope will inspire you to help stay on the path towards minimising single-use plastics.

ALBATROSS is being gifted to all viewers as a public artwork, outside the commercial film industry.

Donations are welcome at the door or if you wish, you can also donate directly to ALBATROSS by going to their website www.albatrossthefilm.com to help spread the film far and wide.

ALBATROSS is an adult film with strong emotional content, so we recommend it for viewers age 12 and above.

Nibbles will be provided and the bar will be open. So that no one goes home hungry, or even worse, leftovers go to waste we would appreciate you rsvp here.

Plastic Free July Beach Clean Up

To embrace Plastic Free July, please join Plastic Free Bronte for a clean up at Bronte Beach .

When: Sunday 22nd July at 10am

Where: meet for a briefing at the hut and grassy area closest to the Bogie Hole

What to bring: Sun-safe gear and sturdy shoes. Bags and gloves will be provided.

Australia has one of the best natural landscapes in the world. But the rubbish we create through mass consumption is choking our streets, beaches, parks, bushland and waterways. And along the way it's killing one of our best assets : nature.

We are all part of the problem - but YOU can also be part of the solution by reducing or eliminating single use plastics from your lives ...and by helping us clean up the rubbish others have left behind. We look forward to seeing you!

Celebrate the good stuff happening locally, and the amazing change-makers, including those at 'plastic free bronte' behind it. We will be helping or participating in many of the great activities listed.

Bring your friends and family to enjoy music, interactive workshops, film screening, art and more - all upstairs at the Pavilion by Bondi Beach!

Learn about the incredible animals who call the ocean their home. Hold live sea animals, examine specimen samples, and discover a large variety of marine artefacts and shells. BOOK

Make your own beeswax wraps and give plastic wrapping the flick with this hands-on workshop. You’ll take home a healthy and practical wrap for your fruits, cheese, veggies or salad bowl. All materials provided. BOOK

Join local artist Rox De Luca and unleash your hidden creativity to turn recyclables into art in this workshop. All art will be exhibited at the bar area before our movie screening and panel discussion. Please bring any materials you want to use. BOOK

Adventurous people, BIG and small, are invited to race in a treasure hunt that goes deeper than the ocean's floors. Riddles, games and tasks will test your resolve and help you learn about living a plastic-free life in harmony with our ocean's characters. Play alone or with a team and get the best time to WIN! Blue the Film

Blue the Film is a cinematic song for our ocean. It tells the story of the sea and its amazing inhabitants. Blue is a provocative and moving journey into the ocean as its very nature is altered by human activity, industrialisation, unsustainable practices and overfishing. Your chance to meet #OceanGuardians Karina Holden and Tim Silverwood in person!

This free event is hosted by 'Coastal CouncilsSydney" and includes ‘Summerama Coastal Explorer Bus tour’ on Sunday 28th January (10am-4pm) for all interested members of the community (proudly supported by Greater Sydney Local Land Services). The tour will visit Sydney Park wetlands, include a rockpool ramble at Balmoral and will take a closer look at how plastics impact our beaches and marine environment. An Evening of Conversations

Our special guest speaker will be Andy Marks – Bronte local, social entrepreneur, Impact Producer for the ABC’s hugely successful War on Waste, and an all round lovely guy!

Andy will be talking about 'Driving Impact through the War on Waste', there will be a short Q and A , followed by a relaxed get-together and catch up, with live music. The bar will be open for the event.
