PANEL OF JUDGES

Artwork will be judged by a panel of 3 representatives from the Visual Arts, English and Modern Languages, and Beaman Library departments.

ROCKY HORTON

Rocky Horton was born in Arlington, Tennessee. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art from Harding University, he lived and worked in Italy, first Milano then Napoli, for approximately two years. He attended graduate school at West Virginia University. He received an M.F.A. in studio art from WVU. Currently, Rocky serves as Director of the School of Art and Design at Lipscomb. As a conceptually based multi-disciplinary artist, Rocky’s work continues to be exhibited nationally and internationally.

DANA CARPENTER

Dana Carpenter is an Associate Professor who teaches American literature and Creative Writing at Lipscomb University. She is also an award-winning novelist. Her debut novel, Bohemian Gospel, won Killer Nashville’s Claymore Award and was short-listed for the YALSA Alex Award. The sequel, The Devil’s Bible, won the Silver Falchion for Best Novel 2017. The third book in the series, Book of the Just, was published by Pegasus Books in the Fall of 2018.


Dana Carpenter’s award-winning short fiction has also appeared in The Arkansas Review, Jersey Devil Press, Maypop, and, most recently in the anthologies, Dead Ends: Stories from the Gothic South, and Killer Nashville Noir: Cold Blooded.

JULES LEFORT

Jules LeFort has been the Reference Librarian at Lipscomb University since 2021. She earned a B.A. in English from Florida College in 2019, an M.L.I.S. from Louisiana State University in 2020, and is currently working toward her PhD in English. In addition to being a librarian, Jules has worked as an English teacher, copy editor, and journalist.
