Enrollment interest is officially open for the 2026 academic year. Because our inaugural class is strictly capped at 18 scholars to preserve our doctoral-level instructional model, seats are allocated based on student character, persistence, and an authentic readiness for productive struggle.
Admission to LMA is not based on standardized test scores, but on student drive and family alignment. Our admissions process is designed to select scholars who are ready to engage in productive struggle and parents who are committed to our active village model. The process consists of three mandatory evaluations:
Phase 1: The Grit Filter – A mandatory essay handwritten entirely by the prospective 6th-grade scholar, detailing a specific instance where they chose to overcome the urge to quit.
Phase 2: Professional Character References – Contact information for two non-family references (a teacher and either a coach, pastor, or mentor) who can speak directly to the prospective 6th grader's personal discipline, behavior, and character.
Phase 3: The Socratic Interview Panel – The rising 6th grader will engage in a 20-minute interview with the Lion Mountain Academy Admissions Panel. The scholar will be evaluated on their ability to think logically, demonstrate intellectual stamina, and communication skills.
LMA is actively pursuing eligibility to accept Tennessee Education Freedom Scholarships and IEA funds upon completion of our Category IV church affiliation. We encourage families to inquire about their eligibility during the admissions process.
Named in honor of our foundational legacy, the Lion Heart Scholarship Fund is a mission-critical program designed to provide financial advocacy for high-potential families who are fully aligned with the rigor and values of our Academy. Families seeking detailed information regarding eligibility guidelines and our “Double Sweat Equity” Covenant may request the confidential addendum during the intake process.
