Despite the natural beauty of Rizal, Palawan, many residents—particularly those in indigenous communities—struggle with limited access to essential social services due to geographical isolation and financial constraints. These challenges create significant barriers to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities, leaving many families vulnerable to persistent cycles of poverty. The remote location of tribal villages, often separated by dense forests and mountainous terrain, makes it difficult for government services to reach these communities effectively. Additionally, cultural differences and historical marginalization have further hindered the integration of indigenous peoples into broader development initiatives.
Gabay Kalinga Foundation was established to bridge these critical gaps, creating targeted programs that address the unique needs of Rizal's indigenous communities while respecting their cultural heritage and traditions.
Gabay Kalinga Foundation works closely with our communities to support them in transforming lives and achieving their aspirations for better quality of life.
We actively partner with government agencies and private organizations to create customized solutions that address each community's unique challenges. Our initiatives are shaped through continuous dialogue with community members, ensuring that every program reflects local voices and values.
Guided by the principles of sustainable development, we recognize that lasting progress requires harmony between economic growth, social welfare, and environmental stewardship.

Our #TransformingLives Process
At GKFI, we begin by deeply engaging with Indigenous and underserved communities through meaningful dialogues. Our team conducts thorough assessments in South Palawan, focusing on educational gaps, livelihood needs, and environmental concerns. Through partnerships with local leaders, barangay officials, and Indigenous elders, we ensure our programs respect cultural heritage while addressing pressing community challenges.
We develop our initiatives through our three-pillar approach. Each program is carefully designed with community input and formalized through partnerships with stakeholders. From tutorial classes and book caravans to backyard gardening and organic farming training, our implementation strategy emphasizes community ownership and sustainable practice adoption.
Regular monitoring and evaluation are conducted across all our programs to measure both immediate and long-term impact. We track key metrics such as program completion rates, beneficiary numbers, and livelihood improvements. Our field teams conduct regular site visits to assess program effectiveness, while quarterly meetings with stakeholders help identify areas for improvement. This data-driven approach ensures our interventions create lasting positive change in communities.
We share our journey of transforming lives through various channels, highlighting success stories. Regular updates are provided to stakeholders through community meetings, social media, and partner briefings. By documenting and sharing our progress, we inspire more organizations to join our mission of sustainable community development in South Palawan.
