About this class
This course is composed of 4 main units of work and regular practical performance sessions throughout the term. Each unit will incorporate key music activities that relate to the curriculum levels and key competencies.

What it leads into in Year 10
This year 9 option is a good precursor to further study music at year 10 and NCEA. It provides students with the knowledge and tools to facilitate use of music technologies seen in NCEA music.

Music offers you a career within the creative arts industries eg: Musician, teacher, performer, sound technician, band management and recording technician.

About this class
This is a 2-term course composed of 5 main units of work and regular practical performance sessions. We will examine music as a fundamental form of expression. Each unit will incorporate key music activities that relate to making, sharing and responding to music.

Understanding music/introduction to theory continuing from Year 9

What it leads into in Year 11
This year 10 option is a good precursor to further study music at the college by providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the NCEA music program.
